Carolina Gómez de Llarena is a Spanish/Venezuelan film director and screenwriter. She was born in Caracas, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in the Universidad Central de Venezuela. In 2012, she moved to Paris to pursue her Master of Fine Arts at EICAR, the International Film and Television School.
In France and abroad, Carolina has worked in various fields of the audiovisual industry for the past 14 years, specializing in film and video games. She has also been a member of the international jury of FILMETS Badalona Film Festival in 2020.
As a film director, Carolina has made five short films, focusing mainly on fiction with the exceptional case of "Al Jabal" (2020): a documentary selected at the Tampere Film Festival and the Brest European Short Film Festival.
Today, Carolina is developing her short film project, "Swipe", as well as her feature debut, "Negra": a psychological horror drama about the origin of a Venezuelan legend.
